BF2K Benefiting Organizations
BF2K raised a total of $500.00 for three organizations- The Northern California Beagle Rscue, Pets Are Wonderful Support and Remington Dog Park.  All three of them need funds in order to continue their humane missions.  Below is some information about these groups. We also encourage you to visit their websites, by clicking on the organization's logo, to find out even more about the services these groups provide and how you can support them.  We hope to raise more money at future Northern California Beaglefests.
Northern California Beagle Rescue (NCBR) was founded to be an advocate for beagles Linea, the founder of NCBR, has become a central contact point in the Bay Area and Central Valley for beagles who needed new homes.

The $340.00 raised for NCBR was allocated to the Cinderella Fund.  This Fund is used in order to provide costly and critical medical procedures for beagles.  Once healthy again, the rescue can more easily place the dogs in loving homes.
Pets Are Wonderful Support (PAWS) is a nonprofit organization that serves the needs of low-income pet owners who are living with AIDS.  PAWS offers comprehensive services designed to enable their clients to keep their animal companions.  Services include an animal food bank, subsidized veterinary care, dog walking, litter box maintenance, grooming, foster care and adoption when necessary.  In addition to direct client services, PAWS plays a large role in educating the medical and veterinary communities about the benefits and risks of animal companionship for people with AIDS.  PAWS also produces and internationally distribute Safe Pet Guidelines for immuno- compromised animal guardians.  By helping them keep their much loved pets, PAWS hopes to improve the quality of life of those living with AIDS.

In 2000 PAWS developed a pilot program to expand services beyond the AIDS affected community to include low income people who face other chronic and life threatening illnesses

Funds earmarked for PAWS from BF2K were combined with other pledges to give Randy and Darwin $700.00 as donations to PAWS from their fundraising through the Doggone Fun Run.  The Fun Run is an annual 5 kilometer run/walk for people and their dogs that benefis the organization.
The Sausalito Dog Park, or Remington Park, Is one of the best fenced in dog parks in Northern California.  Remington is named after the dog whose owner, Dianne Chute, helped raise the money to put the park together.  The park comes complete with an information bulletin board, a leash rack, benches, scoopers and water.  There's even a tent you can hide under in foul weather.  On Friday evenings, about 100 human patrons and their dogs gather for cocktail hour replete with wine, cheese, bread and of course, doggy treats!  The park is rated four paws by "The California Dog Lover's Compantion" (highest rating!).

While the city of Sausalito provides the basic of support (such as trash removal) the maitenance and upkeep of the park is provided by private contributions and volunteers.

Remington Dog Park's more than an acre of doggy paradise  was the site of BF2K!  While there was no charge for the use of the park, we raised $70.00 to contribute to the park as a way of saying thank you!
